ABSTRACT

This paper evaluates the role of safety clímate as an evaluation measure of organizational safety. The first step of this research consisted of identifying the dimensíons of the safety climate. Data about the links between safety climate, safety level and some organizational practices are also presented. The study sample consists of 389 subjects from airport ground handling companies. The results suggest that safety climate could be an optimuun indicator in evaluating safety management systems as well as change-oriented programs.
